Brief Professional Profile

Dr. Chris Caraman holds a European Medical Doctor Degree evaluated by the University of Toronto as equivalent to a Medical Degree from a reputable Canadian University. Having over twenty-five years of practice experience, he qualified in medicine at University of Bucharest Medical School and completed a three year rotating internship, with a strong emphasis on Mind-Body Interventions and Non-Conventional Therapies.

Within the European Union, Homeopathic Medicine plays a significant role in healthcare, being part of mainstream therapy. Since in Ontario the College of Physicians regards Homeopathy as Complementary/Alternative Medicine (CAM), Dr. Caraman pursued his interest in Non-Conventional Therapies by attending postgraduate courses in Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Phytotherapy, Psychology/Counselling, at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.

Dr. Caraman also attended a postgraduate program for physicians at the Homeopathic College of Canada, which addresses at expert level the Homeopathic Pharmacology & Therapeutics in the areas of Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Pediatrics and Behavioral Science, leading to an advanced specialization in Homeopathic Medicine.

With a special interest and extensive research in the mind dynamics and the role of suggestion in the process of healing, Dr. Caraman trained in Ericksonian Hypnosis with the faculty of Milton Erickson Foundation in the United States, and honed his skills in Hypnotherapy at the world-renowned university hospital Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals.

By attending a postgraduate program in Medical Hypnosis for physicians at the world-renowned Faculté de Médecine-Sorbonne Universités in Paris, Dr. Caraman further specialized - Diplôme Universitaire en Hypnose Médicale - in Psychosomatic Medicine and Hypnoanalgesia for chronic pain, labor and childbirth.

Dr. Caraman earned the Homeopathic Doctor designation as part of the licensure/registration with the College of Homeopaths of Ontario process. He is also a Certified Hypnotherapist and earned the National Board of Hypnosis Education certification as well. Dr. Caraman maintains a busy private practice in midtown Toronto, successfully integrating Medical Hypnosis and Homeopathic Medicine into a unique, state of the art Mind-Body Medicine approach.
