Homeopathic Referrals
Homeopathy stimulates the body's defense mechanisms and processes in order to prevent or treat illness.
Homeopathic doctors (HDs) select remedies according to a total picture of the patient,
including not only physical symptoms but emotional and mental ones, physical features,
the effects of a variety of environmental influences, patterns of disease within families
and family and social relationships.
Consequently, the homeopathic treatment is highly individualized.

Acute Diseases
In Homeopathic terms an acute disease is caused by trauma, intoxication, or epidemic contagion.
The symptoms are usually clear, particular, sudden and dramatic.
Homeopathy is often effective within hours in acute diseases:
injuries, gastroenteritis, influenza, bronchitis, otitis, shock and even fright.

Chronic Diseases
Most appropriate for homeopathic referral is the full range of chronic diseases,
where the therapeutic regimen addresses the patient's symptoms, while simultaneously
aiming at the root cause of the chronic disease.
Cardiovascular: angina, arrhythmias, hypertension
Respiratory: asthma
Gastrointestinal: duodenal ulcer, ulcerative or spastic colitis, Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome
Gynecology: amenorrhea, menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, infertility, pelvic pain, PMS, menopause, fibroids, cervical dysplasia
Metabolism: diabetes
Dermatology: acne, eczema, herpes, psoriasis
Endocrinology: hyper- or hypo-thyroidism, thyroiditis
Psychoneuroimmunology: allergies, migraines headaches, chronic hepatitis, chronic fatigue syndrome,
fibromyalgia, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease

CAM in Cancer Treatment
According to the United States Cancer Advisory Panel for CAM, when properly combined with standard cancer treatments, Complementary therapies play a part in improving quality of life, enhancing feelings of control, and encouraging healing.
A large study done by the Office of Cancer CAM regarding patients with different types of cancer was published in the July 2000 issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
This study found that 69 percent of patients had used at least one CAM therapy as part of their cancer treatment.
